The neighbors seem to be friendlier, almost desperate for attention. One calls out from across the street and complains about what she can teach her kids, now that all the schools are closed. She was a preschool teacher, so we know she knows what to do with her preschoolers.

I swear our neighbors were not like this. Most would duck and run if they saw us coming. It’s California. We usually make a game of avoidance. That’s what they do here. You find out about you have a neighbor at work.
The streets are less travelled but not deserted. CNN did apiec on SF and we’re a bit judjy about how we were all out jogging and walking holding hands despite the imposed shelter in place.
We hear reports of more shelves being bare. Hand sanitizer, toilet paper, now beans, pasta is gone.
We study the law, the decree, for what is “essential” services or businesses. We can’t see friends, attend book clubs.
