As an engineer that used PTC products for years, I always remember our office talk about how SolidWorks was more intuitive and we should have it instead of Pro/E (or Creo).

However, I don't think that ever was a real issue, and it's surprising for Heppelmann to mention that as a reason. At the end of the day, you spend a few hours with any CAD program and you're ready to use it like a pro.

I think the incorporation of lightweight analysis tools into a flagship product and the emergence of cheap/free CAD software is really what's threatening the PTC's of the world.
